Conservation Truths

ConservationTruths.org is the website of the Conservation Network – a network of activists achieving concrete changes in conservation in British Columbia.

Terms like conservation mean different things to different people. Our definition of conservation is precise:

The preservation, restoration and enhancement of a wild landscape that is home to the most naturally diverse population of plants and animals possible, maintained in a balanced, natural and sustainable manner, with as much access for humans to pursue traditional recreational and food harvesting activities as possible.

Conservation is a goal that is often hijacked by people and groups pursuing quite different goals, especially goals like social or political change, or commercial gain.

The goal of ConservationTruths.org and the Conservation Network is to present information about conservation that is as unbiased and as true as possible in order to change the tone and direction of the public conversation about conservation  in British Columbia in order to achieve concrete, measurable, positive changes.
